Playing the Native American Flute can be a spiritual and enlightening experiencefor the player as well as the listener. The ancient tones of nature can create music that has become the obsession of men and women from all walks of life.
I have found that making Native American style flutes is also a spiritual and enlightening experience,carefully shaping each piece of wood to bring out these ancient sounds, each flute with it's own voice and it's own spirit. Making these flutes has brought me a new passion to share this experience with others. I too am learning how to play, and it is a constant journey of creating;either instruments or music.
My flutes are Native American "Style", which is because I cannot document that I am of Native American decent. I have been told by my grandmother that there are several Native bloodlines in the family, but my search to pinpoint them has so far not panned out. So to give the native ancestors the recognition they have earned, I will call my flutes Native American Style Flutes, as they are made similar to the design of of the Native American Flute. Every artist has their own style and preferences in creating, and I pray that each flute I make truly inspires the spirit within the owner. |
