Lighting Christmas Trees - Page 3
I find it much easier to roll each set of lights into a ball around your hand. Start with the female end in your palm and wrap the lights around your hand into a nice ball.
Plug into the power cord and check to see if set is working. It makes it easier to light with the set on. This lets you see your progress
emediately. Pick a branch at the bottom of the tree and start wrapping the lights from the trunk out toward the outside of the tree, stopping about 4-6 inches befor you reach the tip of the branch. See Figure 1b.
Work your way back to the trunk quickly with just one or two wraps. Choose a nearby branch and repeat the last step. Continue working your way around and up the tree, covering all major branches. When you get to the end of the set, wrap another set, plug it in and continue. Remember the '3 set rule' and do not plug in more than 3 sets end-to-end. When you complete your third set, start back at the power cord for your next set of three.
You can adjust the density of the lights, by wrapping the lights closer together or further apart, again according to your taste.
